Blood donors are needed
for holiday season

The Blood Bank is urging residents to donate blood this month to help meet needs of patients who depend upon the donations for survival.

"The holidays are tough on the state's blood supply, and this year will be no exception," said Dr. Robyn Yim, Blood Bank of Hawaii president and medical director.

Donations are traditionally low in December because people are busy with holiday activities and vacations, she said.

Donations may be made at these locations:

>> Saturday, 8 a.m.-noon, Waipahu United Church of Christ preschool social hall.
>> Sunday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Windward Mall.
>> Dec. 13, 9 a.m.-1:45 p.m., Immaculate Conception.
>> Dec. 14, 8 a.m.-2 p.m., Foodland-Ewa Town Center.
>> Dec. 15, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Manoa Shopping Center.
