The 13th annual "Light Up a Child's Life" campaign is under way through Dec. 31 with proceeds going toward Pediatric Surgical Services at Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children.
Central Pacific Bank and Kapiolani Children's Miracle Network are sponsoring the special fund-raising effort, which began Nov. 24.
Clint Arnoldus, Central Pacific Bank chief executive, said this year's campaign goal of $40,000 would help Kapiolani continue advances in pediatric surgery, "allowing children to return home to their families sooner, with a quicker, less painful recovery."
For every $5 donation, a paper candle ornament with the donor's name will be displayed in the lobby of the bank branch where the donation is made.
The ornaments can be sponsored in memory of loved ones.
For $10, donors will receive a button bearing the likeness of Central Pacific mascot Alex, a Shetland sheepdog.
For $20, donors will receive an Alex stuffed toy.
Donations can be made at all Central Pacific Bank branch locations.
Last year's campaign raised about $37,000 for Kapiolani Medical Center's hemophilia program, assisting children born with rare blood disorders who require extensive treatment and hospitalization.
Over the years, Central Pacific Bank has raised nearly $440,000 for the hospital.
