If you're checking out the North Shore surf, stop by North Shore Country Market where there's a Makahiki Mele going on to 4 p.m. today.The free event features entertainment by slack-key virtuoso Makana, the bluegrass band Wild Orchid, hula by Na Wahine O Ka Hula and rock by Bad Back Band, with special guests as well.
Enjoy the music while shopping for locally grown organic vegetables, fruit, flowers, and locally crafted clothing, fine art and home-baked goods.
There will also be an interactive keiki corner and demonstrations related to surfing and Hawaiian culture throughout the day.

'Iso Peanut' Christmas
'Ohia Productions will present "An Iso Peanut Christmas/A Hawaiian Christmas Story" at the McKinley High School Auditorium Dec. 14.The production features remakes of classic Christmas songs, as performed by favorite characters from "Once Upon One Kapakahi Time," "The Princess and the Iso Peanut" and "On Dragonfly Wings."
Showtimes are 2 p.m. Dec. 14 and 2 and 4 p.m. Dec. 21. Tickets are $15, and $10 for senior, military and student seating. For more information, call 594-0464 or visit www.ohia.com.
"An Iso Peanut Christmas/A Hawaiian Christmas" can also be seen at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Tropics Showroom at 7:45 and 9:45 p.m. Dec. 19. Admission is $25, which includes one drink.
