Sobriety checkpoints set
to catch drunken drivers
Star-Bulletin staff
Police began holding sobriety checkpoints across the state yesterday as part of the "You Drink & Drive ... You Lose" enforcement campaign.
All four county police departments plan to hold random checkpoints through Jan. 5.
Fifty-one people have died in alcohol-related accidents on Hawaii roads this year, compared with 48 deaths last year.
Radio and TV spots advertising the campaign will air during the enforcement period.
