Three people indicted for allegedly making illegal campaign contributions to Mayor Jeremy Harris surrendered to authorities yesterday.
Kenneth Sakai, Robert Ko and Donn Mende appeared in state District Court yesterday where they were booked, fingerprinted and released on their own recognizance.
Sakai is a vice president at engineering firm R.M. Towill Corp., and Ko is former comptroller. Mende is a business associate of the Towill firm.
A grand jury indicted Sakai, Ko and Mende on Nov. 5, alleging the three made donations in the names of others and made contributions that exceeded the $4,000 limit.
The misdemeanor charges are punishable by a year in prison.
