NOW THEY CAN SMILE!: Shaula Voge, left, and Eric Nemoto were joined by Jenny Ryun Foster Cheung as they relaxed at the party that capped the first weekend of the Actors Group production of "Ten Million Reawakenings" on Nov. 16. Voge gives a touching performance in an emotionally demanding role as a samurai's young wife who is haunted by the malevolent ghost of his first wife. Nemoto stars as the samurai.

TWO "APARTMENT" PEOPLE: Greg Howell enjoyed the opening night party for Manoa Valley Theatre's production of "Apartment 3A" with Athena Espania, left, and Yesinia Sanchez on Wednesday. Howell did the hair and makeup for the MVT show. Espania, who was helping serve the party guests that night, designed the costumes. The MVT production benefits from the performances of actors Jared Jeffries and Gene DeFrancis.

GREAT JOB, GUYS!: Jimmy Borges, left, John Pizzarelli and Honolulu Symphony Pops conductor Matt Catingub celebrated backstage after a great jazz concert Friday in the Blaisdell Concert Hall. Borges was in top form as the opening act. Pizzarelli charmed the crowd with his marvelous singing, smooth guitar work and funny patter. It was also a big night for Catingub, who sang and played sax and piano, as well as conducting.
