A 25-year-old Pearl City man died of injuries Friday after failing to make a turn with his motorcycle on North Nimitz Highway and striking a concrete medial barrier, police said.

It's unknown if drugs or alcohol were involved, but speed was a factor, police said. The man was wearing a motorcycle helmet.

This was the 74th traffic fatality in Honolulu this year, compared with 62 at the same time last year.
