Christian center offers Advent retreat
The Spiritual Life Center will offer a sample of the traditional Christian preparation for Christmas in an Advent Retreat, Friday to Nov. 30 at St. Anthony's Retreat Center."Hearing the Messenger: The Archangel Gabriel" will be the theme of reflections, readings and private meditation to be led by Episcopal minister Nancy Conley. Self-reflection and fasting are the tradition for the four weeks preceding Christmas.
Simple monastic meals will be served, and private cottages are available at the Kalihi Valley retreat center.
