U.S. Coast Guard officials expected to rescue two people in a life raft this morning after receiving an emergency signal from their vessel yesterday.
The Coast Guard Cutter Polar was en route last night to the location where two people from the sailing vessel Azure were last spotted, about 950 miles north-northwest of Oahu.
The couple left Kauai's Nawiliwili Harbor on Nov. 6 and were heading to Long Beach, Calif.
Coast Guard personnel in a C-130 confirmed yesterday that the two people in the raft were alive.
