Clewett is WAC swimmer of the week

Sophomore Katie Clewett was named the Western Athletic Conference's swimming and diving athlete of the week. The Hawaii swimmer finished first in the 100 and 200 breaststroke to help the Rainbow Wahine beat Pacific in a non-conference dual meet.

Clewett also swam the second leg of the 200 medley relay that captured first with a time of one minute, 44.68 seconds. The sophomore placed fourth in the 100 fly.

BYUH seeded fourth in water polo tournament

The Brigham Young-Hawaii men's water polo team has been seeded fourth in the Western Water Polo Association tournament. The Seasiders (13-6) open against fifth-seeded UC Davis in the first round of the tournament at the Thompson Aquatic Center at the University of Redlands (Calif.) on Friday. Seeded ahead of BYU-H are Loyola-Marymount (No. 2) and Air Force (No. 3).

The winner on Friday meets the winner of the game featuring top-seeded UC San Diego and eighth-seeded Pomona-Pitzer.

Hawaii still ranked second in AVCA

The Hawaii women's volleyball team remained ranked No. 2 in this week's USA Today/AVCA Coaches Top 25.

The Rainbow Wahine (27-1) received 1,551 points. Their only loss of the season came to unanimous No. 1 Southern California.

The Women of Troy (26-0) had 1,625 points and all 65 first-place votes.
