The Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin Index is a price-weighted index designed to measure the performance of Hawaii-based companies. The index was developed with a base value of 100 as of December 31, 1999. A chart of the index which shows the weekly performance of its members is published weekly in the Honolulu Star-Bulletin.

Hawaiian flying high
The parent company of Hawaiian Airlines posted a 26.7 percent gain this week to lead the way in the Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin index.
Hawaiian Holdings Inc. closed yesterday at $1.71, its second-highest closing price since filing for Chapter 11 reorganization bankruptcy on March 21. The only other time the company ended higher was when it hit $1.82 on Sept. 23.
Ceatech USA Inc. was dropped from the index this week, leaving only 11 members, after it was delisted from the Over-the-Counter Bulletin Board for failing to make a required Securities and Exchange Commission filing.
