Calendars featuring pets benefit animal groups
It's time to think about picking out those 2004 calendars, and animal lovers might want to look into those featuring pets.
"Pets in Paradise" is the Hawaiian Humane Society's offering, with more than 900 photos of Hawaii pets. The 13-month calendar is available at the society's customer service desk, at 2700 Waialae Ave., and pet specialty shops on Oahu.
Fourteen featured photos and 24 collage pages show off the menagerie. It's $10, and proceeds help care for homeless pets.

The calendar will benefit the Los Angeles-based group, a nonprofit organization dedicated to ending animal exploitation and suffering. The calendar is $12.99 and can be purchased at the group's Web site, www.lcanimal.org.
