A celebration of the U.S. Marine Corps' 228th birthday yesterday in Kaneohe featured a pageant where Marines dressed in uniforms and carried weapons reflecting the Marines' chronological history. Cpl. Travis Eslinger, left, dressed in a Marine uniform from the Mexican-American War of 1847, Lance Cpl. Lavallion Jackson dressed in a uniform from the Spanish-American War and Lance Cpl. Clayton Peterson wore a uniform from the Banana Wars of the 1930s.
