A rock band called Linus, now known as Linustheband, has as its members singer Dave Neely, bassist Nikolaus Daubert, Danmerle Capati on synthesizer, and drummer Sandeep Rai.

This month's Avant Pop party will showcase local innovative, underground bands like Linustheband (formerly just Linus), The Suspicious Mind (rockabilly with an indie attitude), the Daykillers (girls-growing-up, including the daughter of Star-Bulletin staffers Burl and Mary Burlingame) and DJ Matt Ratt spinning downtempo and indie pop.
This is a fund-raiser to help raise money for the next Popcorn fest to happen on Jan. 23 and 24, with mainland musical guests The Thermals (a Sub Pop band from Portland, Oregon) and the married, keyboard and drums duo Mates of State from San Francisco.
