Super Brawl champion Egan Inouye pleaded not guilty yesterday in District Court for allegedly pushing and choking his wife at their Manoa home Oct. 26.
Inouye, 38, was charged with second-degree terroristic threatening and abusing a family member. He is free after posting $1,100 bail.
District Family Court Judge Darryl Choy set trial for the week of Dec. 8.
Inouye has been ordered to stay away from his wife and their three children.
Inouye is a middleweight champion in the no-holds-barred Super Brawl fighting, which combines martial arts, boxing and wrestling.
Gina Inouye sought and was granted a temporary restraining order against her husband the day after the incident.
In her Oct. 27 motion, she alleged he physically and psychologically abused her and threatened to harm her and their children, ages 5 months to 7 years. The temporary restraining order is effective until Jan. 25.
Defense attorney Howard Luke said Inouye has not yet been served with the restraining order. A hearing on the matter has been set for Thursday.
