The Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin Index is a price-weighted index designed to measure the performance of Hawaii-based companies. The index was developed with a base value of 100 as of December 31, 1999. A chart of the index which shows the weekly performance of its members is published weekly in the Honolulu Star-Bulletin.

Report lifts Cyanotech
Cyanotech Corp.'s stock posted a 24.35 percent gain this week. On Thursday, the Kona nutritional supplements company reported a dramatically lower loss of $10,000 for the second quarter, compared to $540,000 lost in the same period last year.
Its shares closed yesterday at 57 cents, still shy of the $1 minimum it needs to avoid delisting from the Nasdaq SmallCap Market.
Hawaiian Holdings, parent of bankrupt Hawaiian Airlines, led the companies in the Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin Index with a gain of 25.45 percent to close at $1.38.
