UH invites public to free
physics-astronomy demos

Free electron lasers, cosmic ray physics, physics and toys, and other topics will be featured in demonstrations and presentations Saturday during a free open house at the University of Hawaii-Manoa Department of Physics and Astronomy.
Department Chairman Michael Peters will welcome guests at 8:30 a.m. in the Hawaii Institute of Geophysics auditorium, and groups will follow a schedule until 11 a.m. Then, visitors can go to sites informally until 12:30 p.m.
Students and professors will display physics research conducted at UH-Manoa and describe research applications. The Society of Physics Students will participate with exhibits and demonstrations in Watanabe Hall and a lab in Krauss Annex.
Parking is available on the upper campus near Watanabe Hall and in the parking structure for $3.
