Flaming dessert
is impressive


This dish was prepared by Ben Wong and Rodney Uyehara of the Bistro at Century Center on "Hawaii's Kitchen" Sunday, a rebroadcast of the May 11 show. The show airs at 5:30 p.m. on KHON/Fox.

Bananas Foster

2 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 bananas, sliced lengthwise
3 tablespoons brown sugar
Juice of 1 orange
2 tablespoons EACH orange curaçao liqueur, banana liqueur and rum
Cinnamon, to taste
Vanilla ice cream

Melt butter in pan. Add brown sugar and orange juice; stir to melt sugar. Add bananas, cut side down, Pour in liqueurs and light with a match. When flame burns out, sprinkle with cinnamon and turn banana pieces to coat. Serve bananas and sauce over ice cream.
