Spooky's Halloween town presents Scare Factory II
46-018 Kam Hwy, Kaneohe (between Kahuhipa and Kaneohe Post Office)
Labeled "super intense," this haunted house also has a costume shop that is open from noon to midnight. The Scare Factory is open from 6 p.m. to midnight Fridays and Saturday through Oct. 31 and 6 to 10 p.m. Sunday through Oct. 30. Admission is $6.

"The Vampire Show: A Tribute to Bela Lugosi's Dracula"

A vintage film clip collection of Dracula movies from the '30s and '40s will be screened 3:30 p.m. Oct. 30. Included will be film highlights from the 1931 classic "Dracula," the hilarious "Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstein" and "The Raven," a lesser-known Bela Lugosi flick co-starring Boris Karloff. Program conductor Steven Fredrick, a Film Historian and Collector of Rare Movies, will "talk story" about Bela Lugosi and the making of the "Dracula" films. He will also share stories about the late Hope Lugosi, widow of the horror actor. Mrs. Lugosi resided in Honolulu for several years until her death in 1997. For mature teens through adults. Trick-or-Treat at a custom-designed neighborhood of colorful buildings constructed by the students of the University of Hawaii's School of Architecture, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Oct. 31. Also enjoy spooky stories, games and activities. Don't miss "The Creepy-Crawly Roach Race," a new "spook-tacular" event that's sure to be a hit with trick-or-treaters. Bring the biggest, fastest roach you can find and race it down a 44-inch specially designed track. The owners of the most speedy roaches will be rewarded with prizes. In addition, scientists will be on hand to identify the types of roaches, and teach you everything you wanted to know (or not know) about the eating patterns of cockroaches. Bishop Museum's entomologists will also bring out a variety of exotic cockroaches from their collection - roaches found in Hawaii, the Pacific and Asia. Admission is free, but a $1 donation at the door will help support the museum's education and outreach programs.
