Victim critically injured
in Kalihi shooting

Police are looking for two men in connection with an early morning shooting in Kalihi yesterday.

A 19-year-old man was in critical condition yesterday after he was shot in the torso at about 2:25 a.m. on Kaiwiula Street.

Police said the 19-year-old victim and a 26-year-old man encountered two men described as being in their 20s.

One suspect had a handgun and the other had a knife. The suspect with the handgun allegedly shot the 19-year-old man and shot at but missed the 26-year-old man. The other suspect tried to stab both victims, police said.

The 19-year-old man was taken to the Queen's Medical Center. The 26-year-old man was not injured.

The suspects fled in a car that was later recovered.
