Hawaii’s top teachers
get free use of cars
for a year


Hawaii's top teachers received cash and the free use of cars for a year as part of an annual teachers of the year awards program held Thursday during a Board of Education meeting at Kailua Intermediate School.

The cars were provided by various automobile dealers, manufacturers and associations. District teacher winners also received $500 in cash from the Polynesian Cultural Center, while the state teacher of the year received a $1,000 award.
