TV and radio personalities Bruddah Sam and Lina Girl will help First Insurance employees fire up the chili pot in support of Aloha United Way today.
The chili contest and sale gets underway at 11 a.m., with chili sales to start just around lunch time at 11:30 a.m., continuing until all the chili is gone. The cost will be $2.50 per bowl, with drinks for 50 cents.
The event will take place in the company's 5th Floor Training Room at 1100 Ward Ave.

If you ever wanted to wield a sword, now's your chance.
Honolulu Club will be hosting a fencing seminar for adults and teens Halloween weekend with its fencing pro Colin Chock and special guest, 1998 World Saber Champ Donna Saworski of Toronto, Canada.
The cost is $100 if you pay by today, $125 if paid by Oct. 30, and $150 at the door, for the sessions running 6 to 9 p.m. Oct. 31 in Studio One, 9 to 10:30 a.m. Nov. 1 in Studio Two followed by a trip to the roof, and noon Nov. 2 in Studio 1.
Some fencing knowledge is required; if you have none but want to take advantage of this special seminar, sign up for a crash course. Fencing is offered 7 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays to month's end.

TAG auditions set
The Actors' Group will be hosting auditions for "Two Trains Running" from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Oct. 25 and 26 at the Yellow Brick Studio, 625 Keawe St.
The drama by the Pulitzer Prize winning playwright August Wilson is about the effect of a city's redevelopment plans on a restaurant and its denizens in Pittsburgh of 1969, will run from Jan. 7 to Feb. 8, 2004. Needed are four males ages 40 to 60, 1 30-year-old male and 1 30-year-old female.
