Eric Chandler and Takeo will be the featured designers as the Chinese Woman's Honolulu Club presents the 75th Anniversary Fashion Show, "East Meets West," in the Royal Hawaiian Hotel Monarch Room Oct. 26.
Takeo, who has received more than 25 awards for his artistic achievement, has created designs for Jennifer Love Hewitt, Vivian Wu, Jason Mamoa, Miss Universe Brook Lee, Miss America Carolyn Sapp and many local and international celebrities and beauty queens.
Chandler, a past recipient of the Designer of the Year of Hawaii award, is currently working in San Francisco and will return to show his newest creations.
Both designers will create spectacular collections in honor of the anniversary, and the show will feature special guest models including the Narcissus Queen and her court, KITV4 news personalities Jill Kuramoto and Pamela Young, Midweek writer Yu Shing Ting, Charlyn Masini, and others.
Also on view will be a display of a painting by the renowned Chinese artist Hon Chew Hee, which will be sold in a silent auction. The proceeds of this sale will be going to the Chinese Woman's Club.
Boutique sales are slated to run from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with lunch at 11:30 a.m. and the fashion show immediately following.
Tickets are $45 per person, including lunch. Seating is limited. For reservations, call Blossom Tyau at 373-1404 or Sandra Hee Hagan at 589-1099.
