Volcanoes books
Mystikal on Oct. 30

LOOKS like Oct. 30 will be a pretty busy night here in Honolulu -- it's already been announced that Ashanti will perform at the Blaisdell, and now word comes that hip-hop artist Mystikal will be on-stage the same evening at Volcanoes Nightclub.

A military veteran who spent time in the U.S. Army during Operation Desert Storm, Mystikal (real name Michael Tyler) was among the first to put New Orleans on the hip-hop map, working with Master P and releasing albums under the No Limit Records label.

This may be the last opportunity for a while to see the rapper, however, since he pleaded guilty in June to a charge of sexual battery. He's scheduled to return to court on Nov. 3, where he faces up to 10 years in prison.

Tickets for the show at Volcanoes are $15 in advance, and are available at all Ticketmaster locations. A flyer being circulated says that a camera crew from The WB network will also be on hand to film the concert. Call 528-7071 for more info ...
