Jack Black: Plays a washed-up musician trying to make a comeback.
"Out of Time" >> Denzel Washington and director Carl Franklin, who last worked together on 1995's "Devil in a Blue Dress," reteam on this crime thriller about a police chief of a small Florida key town who finds himself accused of a double homicide by his vengeful lover (Sanaa Lathan). Soon, the race is on to find the real killer. (PG-13)
"The School of Rock" >> Director Richard Linklater ("Slacker," "Dazed and Confused" and "Waking Life"), actor and screenwriter Mike White ("Chuck & Buck" and "The Good Girl") and Jack Black team up to make a good-natured comedy about a washed-up rock musician who, hard up for cash, takes a substitute teaching job at a tony prep school. Desperate to regain his reputation and win the local battle of the bands, he forms a ragtag group with his fourth-grade students -- who must learn how to rock in a righteous and rebellious way! (PG)
