rockin’ with 8 bands
HEAD OVER to The Beach House tomorrow for a night of local rock, courtesy of Mass Appeal Productions and Star 101.9.
The "Off the Heezy Fo Sheezy Party" gets started at 7 p.m., with two stages pumping all the way until 2 a.m. Amplified, Go Jimmy Go, Last in Line, Linus, Pimpbot, Upstanding Youth and Woody are all lined up to play, and Fountains of Wayne will also make a trip here in support of its new album, "Welcome Interstate Managers."

ON SATURDAY, head down to the Waikiki Shell for "Hawaii Rap Fest 2003 -- The Gathering." Presented by Keep it Real Productions, the concert is a showcase of Christian hip-hop groups from all over the mainland.
Among the acts scheduled to perform: Dr. Cheddar, 1.8.7., Jah Word, Rick B. and 4Given, Promis d'Apostle, Dynamic Twins, Sup the Chemist, Gospel Gangstaz, Camp Quest, Elementz, K-Drama, Critical Issue, Urban D, Unity Klan and Pettidee. Texas b-boy crew Havikoro will also be on hand.
