Promotions

>> First Hawaiian Bank has promoted two employees to assistant vice president. They are Craig S. Avellar, First Investment Center sales manager; and Susan M. Lau, Haleiwa Branch manager. Avellar joined the bank in 1995 as an investment specialist and Lau joined in 1984 as a management trainee. May Nishijima also has been promoted to First Hawaiian Bank Kaneohe Bay branch manager. She joined the bank in 1986 as a management trainee and has held positions as a loan representative and business banking officer.

In addition, the bank has appointed the following officers: Clyde T. Nakasue to vice president and Hilo Branch area manager; Robert D. Drown to training department corporate training officer; Lynne Dela Cruz to Pahoa Branch manager; and Mele Heresa to trust real estate officer.

On the Board

>> The Salvation Army has selected five new members for its Honolulu Advisory Board: Olsten Staffing Services Inc. President Signe Godfrey, Oceanic Time Warner Cable of Hawaii advertising sales director Mary Ann Sacharski, St. Andrew's Priory School head Caroline Ward Oda, Pam Chambers Presentation President Pam Chambers and Servco Pacific Inc.
