Asashoryu closer
to clinching


TOKYO >> Yokozuna Asashoryu remained undefeated today, improving to 11-0 at the Autumn Grand Sumo Tournament.

Asashoryu beat Miyabiyama (3-8), and has a two-bout lead over his nearest competitor, Chiyotaikai, who beat Asasekiryu (5-6) to improve to 9-2.

Kotomitsuki and Tochiazuma are tied for third place at 8-3.

Hawaii-born yokozuna Musashimaru (Fiamalu Penitani) is sitting this basho out with an injury.
