Jeans retailer to open isle store

Lucky Brand Jeans, a nationwide retailer of denim wear, will open its first Hawaii store on the mall level of Ala Moana Center on Oct. 10. The store of about 2,400 square feet, between Nine West and Wet Seal, should be followed by two more Hawaii outlets within the next year, according to the Vernon, Calif.-based company.

Lucky Brand Jeans was founded in 1991 by Gene Montesano and Barry Perlman, who created Bongo Jeans, popular in the 1980s. The company has associations with the entertainment business and has sponsored film festivals and had its products featured in movies and television shows.

Locke named to market Hawaiian

Travel marketing and sales executive Gordon P. Locke has been named senior vice president for marketing and sales at Hawaiian Airlines. His most recent job was vice president of marketing and enterprise development at Rosenbluth International, a Philadelphia-based worldwide travel company with more than 3,000 employees that has been acquired by American Express.

He also has had management and executive positions with technology and travel companies that include the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Co., World Travel Specialists Group, ITI/Metters Industries, Grand Heritage Hotels International and T-Direct. He also worked for the federal Office of Comptroller of the Currency.

Locke replaces John Happ at Hawaiian. Happ resigned with two other executives in January.

Analyst sets $38 target for Bank of Hawaii

Analyst Frederick Cannon of Keefe, Bruyette & Woods has reinstated coverage of Bank of Hawaii Corp. with a market perform." He also set a price target of $38 a share.

Bank of Hawaii, which closed at $33.77 yesterday, has five "hold" ratings and two "sell" ratings among the seven analysts who cover the company.

>> Caron B. Realty has promoted Sonia Shigehara from office and client services coor- dinator to sales assistant. She will be responsible for the company's marketing, maintaining its international database, researching properties for clients and matching buyer and seller needs.

>> Watanabe Chun Iopa Takaki Architecture has elected Larry Cunha to vice president. He joined the firm in November 2002 as a senior associate. His recent experiences include the renovation of Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort, the Bay Club at Waikoloa Beach Resort sales center and the Hilton Grand Vacation Club sales spaces in Hilton Waikoloa. He also previously served as project manager at Hilton Hawaiian Village's Hilton Grand Vacation Club.

New Jobs

>> Joan Bennet and Associates Inc. has promoted Su Shin to vice president. She will oversee accounts, provide client counsel on a wide range of communications issues and continue to focus on Hawaii's health care and public policy issues, including bioterrorism and tobacco. She joined the firm in 2001 as an account manager and was promoted to account supervisor in 2002. Prior to that, she was a reporter at KHNL News 8.

>> Comfort, Security, Independence Inc. has appointed Wendy Gorka as acting executive director. The company is a nonprofit agency formed that pro- vides individualized money management and related asset management to Hawaii's seniors, the infirm and people with disabilities.
