Smith runs to record in Laie

Brigham Young-Hawaii's Chelsea Smith beat Hawaii Pacific's Nina Christensen by 23 seconds to win the BYUH Cross Country Invitational at Laie yesterday. HPU won both team titles when William Ngetich ran the 8 kilometers in 26:44 to take the men's race.

Wahine dominate: Chantelle Laan won the USF Invitational at San Francisco in 16:57 as Hawaii swept the top three spots and four of the top five.

Backfield Banter hits QB Club

Radio personalities Alema and Tau Harrington, of KKEA 1420, and KDDN FM's Lanai will speak at the Honolulu Quarterback Club tomorrow. Lunch begins at 11:30 at the Pagoda restaurant in Honolulu with the program to follow at noon.
