The Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin Index is a price-weighted index designed to measure the performance of Hawaii-based companies. The index was developed with a base value of 100 as of December 31, 1999. A chart of the index which shows the weekly performance of its members is published weekly in the Honolulu Star-Bulletin.

A&B hits 5-year high
Alexander & Baldwin Inc.'s stock rose to its highest level in more than five years and Ceatech USA Inc.'s shares reached their best price in nearly a year to highlight local performances this week in the Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin index.A&B, which ended the week down 1.2 percent at $28.72, hit $30 on Tuesday to match its best close since April 9, 1998.
Thinly traded Ceatech, which is due to report earnings this month, had the best week as it jumped 45.7 percent to 51 cents to make it the index's best performer in 2003 with a 96.2 percent gain. The last time the stock hit 51 cents was Sept. 19, 2002.
