Marshals find their
man in A. Samoa

A man sought by the U.S. Marshals Service for six years has been arrested in American Samoa.

U.S. Marshal Mark Hanohano announced Thursday that Luavasa Amani Tufono was located and surrendered to authorities Aug. 22.

A warrant was issued in 1997 for Tufono's arrest for violating the terms and conditions of his supervised release, Hanohano said.

Tufono had been sentenced to two years and seven months in prison and three years of supervised release for a bank robbery conviction, he said.

Tufono had been on the U.S. Marshal Service's Top 10 list of most wanted fugitives for Hawaii.
