Suichi Arakawa, 90, of Hilo, a retired Hawaii Grocers employee, died Aug. 4, 2003, at home. He was born in Olaa, Hawaii. He is survived by son Herbert; daughters Betty Tominaga and Violet Nishihara; brothers Walter, Shuye, Richard, Harold and Shuroku "Lefty"; sister Patsy; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Robert T. "Rudy Gonzales" Behrens, 67, of Maunaloa, Molokai, a retired designer and builder, died Aug. 27, 2003. He was born in Spokane, Wash. He is survived by wife Jean, daughter Paula Liddle and two grandchildren. Private scattering of ashes at sea.

Dr. Alvin B. Chun, 70, of Malibu, Calif., a physician and a U.S. Army veteran, died Aug. 10, 2003. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by son Christopher, daughter Alana L. Wetherby, brothers Elroy and Lawrence, and sisters Wilma Yim and Florence Wong. Services held in Oxnard, Calif. Nancy Conklin, 83, of Kailua, a University of Hawaii library employee and a Women's Air Service Patrol veteran who served in World War II, died Aug. 21, 2003, in Kaneohe. She was born in Long Island, N.Y. She is survived by husband Edward, son Larry, daughter Leslie Currey, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. No services.

Talalelei Maliatoa "Lei" Fonoimoana, 86, of Kahuku, a retired federal government heavy equipment operator and a HCAP program worker for Hauula and Kahuku congregational dining centers, died Aug. 22, 2003, in Honolulu. She was born in Sauniatu, Upolu, Western Samoa. She is survived by children Yvonne Sorenson, Vaitogi Fely, Thelma Lutali, Anthony Kulukulualani and Stella Mulivai; brother Kosena; sister Lemau Taualii; 46 grandchildren; 98 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren. Michael L. "Mike" Hinds, 54, of Honolulu, a U.S. Department of Defense shop superintendent at Pearl Harbor, died Aug. 24, 2003. He was born in East St. Louis, Ill. Michael Cornell Huddleston, 57, of Kihei, Maui, a Realtor, construction worker and Marriott employee, died Aug. 22, 2003. He was born in Portland, Ore.
