Mariano Acang Evangelista, 81, of Kahului, a Kapalua Bay Hotel housekeeper, died Aug. 21, 2003, at home. He was born in Paoay, Ilocos Norte, the Philippines. David Paul Hartz, 54, of Ocean View, Hawaii, owner of Aloha Water Delivery, died Aug. 25, 2003, at home. He was born in Glendale, Calif. Larry Bernard Hunter, 66, of Honolulu, a retired truck driver, died Aug. 25, 2003, at home. He was born in Long Beach, Calif. He is survived by brother John N. No services.

Francis Allan Kabris, 63, of Ocean View, Hawaii, a self-employed carpenter, died Aug. 22, 2003, at home. He was born in Belcourt, N.D. He is survived by companion Linda Somers, sons George and Ron, daughter Kerry Ellison, parents George and Stella, brother Larry, sisters JoAnn Reishus and Norma Hartman, and one grandchild. Kataru "Don" Matsumoto, 85, of Honolulu, a retired U.S. Navy Public Work Center supervisor, died Aug. 24, 2003, in the Queen's Medical Center. He was born in Waianae. Marion Ah Lun Monroe, 68, of Spencer, Idaho, died Aug. 17, 2003. She was born in Waialua. She is survived by husband Donald; sons Mark and David; daughters Tamerlene Mark, Hollace Mulvaney, Tatiana Harrison and Lawrie Provost; brothers Ronald, Herbert and Clifford Mark; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren. Rose Frances Pernin, 95, of Honolulu, a retired federal government executive secretary, died Aug. 20, 2003, in the Queen's Medical Center. She was born in California. No survivors. Services to be held in California at a later date.

Rose Caroline Kalauahea Perry, 97, of Hawaii, a retired schoolteacher, died July 19, 2003, in Honolulu. She is survived by daughter Leilani Oliveira, three grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Private services. Incorrect information was given in an obituary Tuesday.

James Cardenas Quiton, 88, of Honolulu, a Hale Koa Hotel employee, died Aug. 21, 2003, in the Convalescent Center of Honolulu. He was born in Caoayan, Ilocos Sur, the Philippines. He is survived by wife Segundina Q. "Pascuala," sons Romeo and Leonard, daughters Elizabeth Martinez and Erlinda Panen, brother Felix Cardenas, sister Gaudelia Quillopo, eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
