Japan’s envoy will speak
at East-West Center lunch

Japanese Ambassador Hisahiko Okazaki will be the featured speaker at a luncheon on Thursday at the garden level of the East-West Center Imin Conference Center.
Since this year marks the 150th anniversary of the beginning of Japanese-U.S. relations, Okazaki will discuss bilateral economic and defense prospects.
The luncheon was put together by the Pacific and Asian Affairs Council, the East-West Center, the Friends of the East-West Center and the Japan America Society of Hawaii in cooperation with the Consulate General of Japan in Honolulu.
Registration will begin at 11:30 a.m., followed by lunch at noon. The cost is $20 for the groups' members and $25 for nonmembers.
