The Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin Index is a price-weighted index designed to measure the performance of Hawaii-based companies. The index was developed with a base value of 100 as of December 31, 1999. A chart of the index which shows the weekly performance of its members is published weekly in the Honolulu Star-Bulletin.

Hawaiian takes off
Hawaiian Airlines' parent, whose stock resumed trading Tuesday after a five-week halt by the American Stock Exchange, soared 30 percent to lead 11 other local stocks this week. Hawaiian Holdings Inc., which had been stuck at 80 cents since stock transfer agent Mellon Investor Services LLC resigned after not getting paid, rose 24 cents to close at $1.04 after settling with Mellon.
Cyanotech Corp., which needs to double its stock price by next Tuesday or face delisting from the Nasdaq SmallCap Market, rose 8.9 percent to 50 cents. The company needs to stay at $1 or higher for 10 consecutive trading days.
