Daniel Kinoshita
Daniel Kinoshita captured the drama of the Pemaquid Lighthouse's rocky shores while touring Maine.

A New England "leaf peeping" vacation in October 1992 proved to be a boon for amateur photographer Daniel Kinoshita.
Kinoshita spent three weeks touring Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont and Massachusetts, and returned home with breathtaking shots.
"On a trip, I usually am happy to get a dozen outstanding images," he wrote in a letter that accompanied his photos. "This trip, I got five times that number. Getting good photographs is partly luck, and I was lucky to arrive in New England when the fall colors were at their peak."
Nature's brilliance shows itself in a wheat field of a rural village in Vermont.

The Pemaquid Lighthouse after dark accentuates the contrast of the cool night against a warm lighthouse interior.

Kinoshita's shot of Rockport Harbor paints a dreamy, idyllic portrait of Maine's beauty.
