The Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin Index is a price-weighted index designed to measure the performance of Hawaii-based companies. The index was developed with a base value of 100 as of December 31, 1999. A chart of the index which shows the weekly performance of its members is published weekly in the Honolulu Star-Bulletin.

Maui Land rebounds


Maui Land & Pineapple Co., which saw its shares fall last week after it reported a $4 million loss for the second quarter, rebounded this week to lead the local stock index.

Maui Land stock rose 11.06 percent to $23.10. It's up 26.92 percent for the year.

Kauai shrimp farm Ceatech USA Inc. brought up the rear on the Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin stock index. It lost 33.33 percent to close at 30 cents.
