GLADWYNE, Pa. >> Summertime usually means movie time for teenagers.

Honolulu's Michelle Wie is no exception.

The 13-year-old golfer recently watched "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days" with her cousins in California. The incoming freshman at Punahou School is now working on a sequel: "How to Win a Golf Tournament in Four Days."

Wie, seeking her second tournament title in seven weeks, tied the low round of the day as the medal-play portion of the U.S. Women's Amateur Championship concluded yesterday. Her 4-under 67 vaulted her from 16th to second place with a 139, one stroke behind medalist Aree Song of South Korea.

Song, 17, and Wie both carded second-round 67s at the Philadelphia Country Club. The two led 64 players into the match-play portion of the tournament that began this morning with Wie scheduled to play Maru Martinez of Venezuela.

Song, who finished fifth in this year's U.S. Women's Open, had the shot of the day -- an eagle on the par-5, 508-yard 12th when she holed a shot from 30 yards with a sand wedge.

In-Bee Park, 15, of Eustis, Fla., and Erica Blasburg, 19, of Corona, Calif., tied for third at 142.

Defending champion Becky Lucidi, 22, advanced with a 147.

The cut was 11-over 153. Failing to advance from Hawaii were Kailua's Bridget Dwyer (154) and Lisa Kajihara of Makawao (157).

The first- and second-round matches are scheduled for today, with the third round and quarterfinals tomorrow. The semifinals are Saturday and the 36-hole final on Sunday.

In June, Wie became the youngest player to win a USGA title for adults at the U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links. Since then, she finished tied for 52nd at the ShopRite LPGA Classic and tied for 39th at the U.S. Women's Open. Last month, she was eliminated in the third round of match play at the U.S. Girls Junior Championship.

Wie, who will be featured in the Aug. 18 issue of ESPN the Magazine, is scheduled to play in the LPGA's Jamie Farr Kroger Classic (Aug. 14-17), the Bay Mills Open on the Canadian men's tour (Aug. 21-24) and the Albertsons Boise Open, part of the Nationwide Tour (Sept. 18-21).
