Police believe this man robbed an American Savings branch in Mililani twice.

Police want help identifying the man who robbed the Mililani branch of American Savings Bank at gunpoint yesterday. This is the third time in a little more than a month that the bank has been robbed, and police believe the same man was involved in two of those cases.

According to police, the suspect entered the bank at 95-221 Kipapa Drive about 10:55 a.m. yesterday and was dressed in a camouflage outfit with a black T-shirt covering his head. Police say he forced his way to the front of the customer line, took out a silver-colored handgun and demanded money.

As he fled with an undisclosed amount of cash, a "dye pack" with the money exploded in the parking lot, police said. The suspect was last seen running toward Moenemanu Street.

He is described as in his early 30s, 5 feet 8 inches tall, about 160 pounds with a medium build.

Police believe the same man held up the bank on June 26 while wearing a green camouflage-type jacket and a "Scream" ghost mask. Witnesses reported seeing a silver-colored handgun in that case as well, police said, and the suspect also fled down Moenemanu Street.

The same bank also was robbed on July 7 by a man carrying a silver-colored handgun.

This is the 21st bank robbery on Oahu this year compared with 10 at this time last year, according to police.

Anyone with information on yesterday's robbery may call Detective Brian Johnson at 692-4602 or CrimeStoppers at 955-8300.
