offers workshops

The state Department of Taxation is holding summer tax workshops on Oahu, Maui and Kauai.
Topics will include 2003 tax legislation, tax issues relating to the high-technology business, investment tax credit and tax credits for research.
Summer workshops will be held on:
>> Kauai on Aug. 5 at the Radisson Kauai Beach Resort, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
>> Maui on Aug. 12 at the Maui Beach Hotel, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
>> Hilo on Aug. 20 at the Hawaii Naniloa Hotel, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
>> West Hawaii on Aug. 26 at the Ohana Keauhou Beach Resort, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
>> Oahu on Sept. 8 at the Ala Moana Hotel, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The workshops cost $40 for registration at least two weeks before the workshop and $45 for late registration. The cost includes a continental breakfast, workshop materials and the Hawaii Tax Laws and Administrative Rules CD.
Four hours of Continuing Professional Education credit will be given. Workshop materials are also available for $15 to anyone who is unable to attend a workshop or who would like additional sets of materials.
