ON WITH THE SHOW!: Randl Ask, Alethea Train, and Cathy Foy relaxed by the piano as they waited for the 2003 Po'okela Awards ceremony to start at the Ko'olau Golf Club on Monday. All three received awards that evening, and Train also provided the musical accompaniment as Foy reprised her award-winning work in "Chicago" with a searing version of "Losing My Mind."
TWO "CHICAGO" STARS: Joey Calderone, left, said he had no expectations of winning a Po'okela, let alone that he and Larry Bialock would both be honored for their performances in "Chicago." Bialock shared a taste of his award-winning work later in the ceremony when he took to the stage and performed as "Mr. Cellophane."
CONGRATULATIONS!: Kevin W. Yamada, left, and Athena Espania, who received awards for their work in "Honk!" celebrated with Dennis Proulx, who was honored twice for "K2." Yamada, the other award honoree who performed during the ceremony, was joined by the talented Michael Hanuna to entertain the crowd with an energetic rendition of "Play With Your Food."
