>> Justin Wayne was put on Albuquerque's disabled list with an injured rotator cuff Thursday.
>> After struggling with the bat throughout his professional career, Dane Sardinha put together a good night at the plate against the Birmingham Barons on Thursday. Sardinha went 2-for-3 with three RBIs in a 4-2 win, raising his average from .190 to over the Mendoza line. Sardinha did it against the league's best pitcher, Neal Cotts, whose last two outings were in the Futures Game and the Southern League All-Star game.
>> In his first month as a starter in his professional career, former closer Tyler Yates is seeing the other side of the game. Yates has turned leads of 8-4, 5-3 and 6-3 over to setup man Steven Bennett in his last three starts, only to have Bennett blow all three.
>> The Kinston Indians have won five straight games since moving Rodney Choy Foo up to second in the batting order.
>> After going 0-for-5 in his debut in high A , Duke Sardinha put together a three-hit game with a pair of doubles. He was leading the Tri-Cities Dust Devils with four homers before being moved up.
>> Justin Hall is 13-for-32 (.406) since being charged with assault against his shortstop two weeks ago and was voted a starter in the Northern League's All-Star game.
>> Actor Matthew Modine is working out with Brian Bock and Chad Boudon with the Aberdeen Ironbirds in preparation for his role in a film about Honus Wagner for TNT.
