Two photographers will be featured in talks tomorrow:
>> Jack Jeffrey, wildlife biologist at Hakalau Forest National Wildlife Refuge and winner of the Sierra Club's 2002 Ansel Adams Award, will speak on "Hawaii Forest Treasures: Past, Present and Future" in celebration of the Year of the Hawaiian Forest.
His free presentation, at 7:30 p.m. at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Coral Ballroom, will be accompanied by his slide images of Hawaii's rarest birds, which he has been documenting for more than two decades.
Jeffrey is co-author with Doug Pratt of "A Pocket Guide to Hawaii's Birds" and "Hawaii's Beautiful Birds." He is working on a pictorial coffee-table book on Hawaiian honeycreepers.

>> Photographer Mary Ann Lynch will present a free slide lecture, "A Life in Photography -- Coming Full Circle," at 7 p.m. at the University of Hawaii at Manoa's Yukiyoshi Room, Krauss Hall 102.
Lynch will be presenting images from her current Lyman Museum retrospective, "Kalapana, a Hawaiian Place," and her recent work, "Inside Egypt." She will also discuss the balancing act of being an artist and making a living, and will review trends in the national photographic community.
Lynch will also offer a workshop, "Life of an Image," running 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday in the same room. Participants should bring a minimum of three photographs (maximum of 15) to be used in the discussion and review. Other prerequisites include a basic knowledge of photography.
For the workshop, participants may use any camera, any format, film or digital. Film will be processed overnight.
