Police arrest 2 in April assault

Honolulu police have arrested two men in an attempted-murder case involving an attack outside a Kalihi bar that occurred more than two months ago.

Police said on April 21 at 2 a.m., a 52-year-old male was beaten with a metal pipe and stabbed fronting Leslie's Place at 549 Kokea St.

The victim was taken to the Queen's Medical Center in critical condition.

A witness has since come forward and identified two suspects, a 22- and a 24-year-old male. Police arrested both suspects yesterday.

Police seek burglar who injured resident

Honolulu police need the public's assistance in identifying the man who broke into an Aikahi Park home last Wednesday and injured the female resident.

The suspect entered the victim's home through an unlocked door and took items from the living room and bedroom.

The female resident, who was napping at the time of the burglary, awoke. Police said she followed him as he was leaving her house and attempted to take back what he stole.

The suspect shoved her, causing her to fall over a chair and injure her arm and leg.

The suspect is described as a male in his 30s, 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing approximately 220 pounds and with a stocky build.

He might be driving a small beige Toyota or Honda.

Anyone with information can call Detective John McCarthy at 261-6106.

Search continues for car break-in suspect

Honolulu police are searching for the man who broke into a car parked at Kailua Beach Park boat ramp June 20.

Police said the suspect broke the driver's door lock and entered the vehicle about 12:15 p.m.

The suspect told the vehicle's owner who had returned that he was retrieving his friend's items, then took a wallet from the car and fled in a white sports utility vehicle.

The suspect is described as a Hawaiian/mixed male in his 30s. He is about 6 feet tall, weighs 220 pounds and has a dark complexion.
