CB leader had
strong work ethic

Earl Sadao Hirotsu, a former president of City Bank, died June 17 at age 75. Hirotsu joined City Bank in Hilo in 1971 and became Hilo branch manager and island regional manager. Later, he relocated to Honolulu and held various positions in operations administration and branch administration.

He was president from 1988 until he left the bank in 1993.

"He was an outstanding leader and helped promote City Bank in Hawaii," said Wayne Miyao, a City Bank spokesman. Hirotsu will be missed for his fortitude and strong work ethic, Miyao said.

Hirotsu is survived by wife Mable, sons Arnold and Cy, a brother, four sisters and four grandchildren.

Private services have been held.
