Eric Dai Chong Chang, 79, of Aiea, a retired assistant chief superintendent at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard, died June 14 in Kapiolani Medical Center, Pali Momi. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by wife Elizabeth; sons Elton, Eric Jr. and Neal; daughters Leonora and Beverly Chang and Debra Santiago; brothers Hawkins, Howard, Albert and Franklin; sisters Miranda Marghiem, Eva Cullen, Lucille Lum and Lena Affonso; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Helen Tamayo Cherry, 67, of Honolulu, a retired Makahiki Plumbing bookkeeper, died last Saturday in the Queen's Medical Center. She was born in Honolulu. She is survived by husband Edward "Scott"; son Derek Kuboi; daughters Doreen Hashimoto and Dayna Kuboi; brother Herbert Higa; sisters Kathryn Sueda, Caroline Higa and Lorene Kim; and two grandchildren. Mitai "Lani" Dahlin, 74, of Kapolei, a retired jewelry vendor with the Kodak Hula Show, died Monday in St. Francis-West Medical Center. She was born in American Samoa.
