Honolulu man sued
by ‘Matrix’ distributor

Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. is suing a Honolulu man for allegedly selling pirated DVDs of the motion picture "The Matrix Reloaded" on the Internet auction Web site eBay.

Michael Luis, also known as Marc Corbin, who does business at 1632 Hart St., was named in the lawsuit filed yesterday in U.S. District Court.

Warner Bros., which holds the copyright and exclusive rights to reproduce and distribute the motion picture, alleges that Luis, using the name "sammeg33," sold the pirated videos between May and June.

Warner Bros. is asking the court to order that Luis stop reproducing and distributing unauthorized video copies of "Matrix Reloaded" or any other motion picture whose copyrights they own.

The suit also seeks damages resulting from the copyright infringement and any profits Luis received from sale of the videos.

Luis could not be reached for comment.
