COURTESY OF TASTE OF HONOLULU
Get your groove on with Stayin' Alive. They will perform at 6 and 9 p.m. tomorrow.

Great food,
entertainment await

If you don't eat anything at the Taste of Honolulu this weekend, you can get by on just $3 admission. But what's the point of that? You get hours upon hours of otherwise free entertainment, from the Hawaiian sounds of Ho'onua to the country of Dita Hollifield to the Pacific Fleet Jazz Band.

This year's highlight mainland group is Stayin' Alive, a disco revival band that takes on the persona of the Bee Gees of the late 1970s. Their repertoire includes dance hits by KC & The Sunshine Band, Wild Cherry, Average White Band, the Commodores and Heatwave.

If that's your groove thang, though, pay attention: Stayin' Alive performs at 6 and 9 p.m. tomorrow only.

Taste of Honolulu is open 5 to 10 p.m. today, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. tomorrow and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday on the Honolulu Civic Center Grounds. Admission is $3 (seniors and children free), with scrip sold to purchase food from the booths of 25 restaurants. Proceeds benefit Easter Seals Hawaii.

Call 536-1015 or visit the Web site at www.taste808.com for a list of participating restaurants and special events.

Now, if eating and eating and eating gets tiring, sit down, rest your jaws and take in some entertainment:
