Gem designs on view
Award-winning jewelry designers Lee Brooks and Greg Franke of Alex & Lee are bring their trunk show to Hawaii for the first time.The event's reception will run from 5 to 9 p.m. tonight at The Rainbow Collection at Ala Moana Center. Newly crowned Miss Hawaii USA, Justine Michioka, will model some of the pieces, as will the store's staff.
Alex & Lee designs, assemblages of multicolored cord, semi-precious stones, coral, seashells and ethnic talismans, are featured in this month's issue of Harper's Bazaar. The collection will be on view at Rainbow Collection through Sunday. Prices range from $50 to $1,000.

Traffic stoppers
Hit the street between 7:10 and 7:20 a.m. June 27 for a "Legally Blonde 2" summer fashion show taking place in front of the Bank of Hawaii building at Bishop and King streets.As appropriate for the traffic-stopping designs, sponsored by Neiman Marcus, models will be showing outfits in the crosswalks as lights turn red.
It's free to anyone who has time to gawk before punching the ol' time clock.
Dance over to Macy's
Shoppers in Macy's Ala Moana's THISIT department will get a taste of culture while they search for summer shorts and Ts by dancers from the San Francisco, Miami City and Boston ballets. The dancers will sign autographs from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday and 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. Among guest dancers is Hawaii's Amanda Schull, who starred in the movie "Center Stage."The dancers will be performing in Ballet Hawaii's "A Midsummer Night's Dance Celebration" on June 27, and during the Macy's appearance, shoppers can purchase tickets for the event.
